New menu for Mayflower

An exquisite selection of hand-made Canapés and Chef’s Signature Share Dishes are exciting additions to the menu at the Mayflower Restaurant.

Developed by Executive Chef and Tasting Australia ambassador Bethany Finn, drawing on her favourite global influences, the new dishes are a tribute to the restaurant’s continued focus on the golden era of hotel dining.

Bethany Finn said the new canapé menu features four delicate and delicious bites. “These delightful canapés are something quite different for Adelaide and I’m very excited to be sharing them with diners. They can be ordered to share as the perfect starter, and go perfectly with a glass of champagne.”

They include Truffle Gougere with Gruyere and Cheddar; Beef Steak Tartare with Potato Gaufrette; Iberico Jambon with Asparagus Parmesan Tartlet; and Smoked Salmon Moscovite Cornet with Caviar.

Bethany has also added three Chef’s Signature Share Dishes to the Mayflower Menu, which she says are the perfect dish for special occasions.

“You would usually need to order these dishes in advance, so having these options available to order on the day makes it quite a special offering,” she said.

They include Mayura Station Wagyu Shepherd’s Pie with Paris Mash; Kingfish Tail Saltimbocca with Lemon Butter; and Salmon Coulibiac with Butter Puff, Spinach, Crepes, Mushroom Rice and Beurre Blanc, each served with two sides.

The Mayflower’s famed carvery, cheese and dessert trolleys will return, the latter with two new additions – Black Forest Charlotte and Daisy Cake.

“Our signature Choux Swans and Honey and Lemon Beehive Dessert, featuring new-season honey from our Mayfair Rooftop Bees, will continue to sit proudly on the dessert trolley,” Bethany said.

Mayfair Hotel General Manager Martin Radcliffe said these new menu inclusions are exciting and allow the Mayflower Restaurant to remain true to its’ roots of classic fine hotel fare and highly personal service.

“The Mayfair is always looking for ways to innovate and improve, so we took the time over the past couple of months to reinvigorate the Mayflower menu and to open our stylish new bistro, THE DEN,” he said.

“The Mayflower represents a unique experience in Adelaide, and I look forward to sharing these exciting additions with both visitors to South Australia and locals in the coming months.”

The Mayflower is open for dinner from 6pm to 9pm, Tuesday to Saturday, High Tea on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 4pm, and breakfast daily.
