The signature dining offering of The Mayfair, Adelaide’s newest 5 star boutique hotel, is the Mayflower Restaurant and Bar with award winning chef Bethany Finn at its helm.

Bethany and her team have revived classic hotel cuisine including a carvery and magnificent dessert trolley, both presented at your table by the highly trained staff delivering warm and attentive service. The menus and exceptional level of service at the Mayflower Restaurant are indicative of the hotel’s overall style and elegance with a touch of glamour.

Recognised by critics and peers as one of Australia’s top chefs, Bethany’s focus on fresh locally sourced and produced food begins at home where her extensive garden is overflowing with vegetables and herbs and a couple of bee hives!

In the kitchen of the Mayflower, her passion for quality is demonstrated in her menus with her relentless passion for freshness evidenced in every morsel. The current Mayflower Restaurant menus are at www.mayfairhotel.com.au/mayflower-restaurant-and-bar

The Mayfair Hotel, located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD in the heritage-listed, beautifully renovated Colonial Mutual Life building is replete with many secrets and wonderful surprises based on the historic nature of the building. The design and fitout throughout the property is exceptional with the challenges of an historic building development being adapted and incorporated into its overall finish in a manner that only serves to highlight further, the attention to detail and commitment to absolute quality by the owners.

Accessed via a sweeping ribbon staircase from the elegant Mayfair lobby, the Mayflower Restaurant and Bar, located below ground level, with natural light from the floor to ceiling original arched windows of the lobby, was in fact originally the Charles Sturt Tavern, a rather infamous venue hosting many patrons during the mid 1900s.

The Mayflower’s wine cellar rear wall is made of Benedict stone and remains in original condition. It is visible from the restaurant via the glass viewing pane into the climate controlled cellar and is in fact part of the original foundation of the Colonial Mutual Building and supports the city’s main thoroughfare, King William Street. Open for a la carte lunch and dinner daily, the Mayflower also offers a most beautifully presented High Tea on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and snacks, coffee and beverages being available throughout the day in the adjacent bar area with both open tables and private alcoves offering visitors an ideal meeting location.
